The ISO 19650 series

is for all people and organisations involved in the whole life cycle of the built asset. Project team - throughout the entire life cycle - requires or produces information. It should not matter how this information is represented (models, spreadsheets, drawings, reports, programmes, etc.) as long as it complies with ISO 19650 series requirements.

01 What is my identity in ISO 19650?

The ISO standards define three types of actors (referred to as "party") and three types of teams.

Actor Appointing party The organization leading the project or asset management. It will be the client who may also be the asset owner. The appointing part (the client) have several appointments with Lead appointed parties

Lead appointed party. The party who is accountable for coordinating information Exchange between a delivery team or task teams and the appointing party. A lead appointed party has several appointments with appointed parties

Appointed party. Anyone generating information about a project that has a direct relationship with the lead appointed party.

Team Project Team Everyone involved in the project regardless of the appointment or contract arrangement.
Delivery Team A lead appointed party and their associated task teams.

Task Team A person or group of people performing specific task.

02 What is my role in ISO 19650?

As part of the interfaces between parties and teams for the purpose of information management, the word roles has been replaced with functions.

Every party within the project team has information management functions they will need to fulfill by assigning the associated activities to appropriate individuals within their organization.

It clearly identifies that one party can undertake multiple information management functions on the project.

03 What are my Tasks/Activities in ISO 19650?

The ISO 19650 series refers to the appointing party, lead appointed party, and appointed party and the project team, delivery team, and task team. The party you represent will influence the tasks that you need to accomplish and the team(s) you are a member of from the outset of the project.
