Establish the project's information standard (continued)
Relevant Industry Standards
Please identify the standards that should be adopted when generating, sharing, authorizing and accepting information.
Means of structuring information
Please confirm the federation strategy and the information container breakdown structure to be adopted for the project.
Information will need to be structured so that its production and management is as straight forward as possible.
Means of classifying information
Please confirm what classification system will be used for this project. The UK BIM Framework implies that the project will use Uniclass 2015 as the classification system
Please confirm the Uniclass 2015 table(s) that will be used as the means of classifying information container content.
Method of assignment for Level of Information Need
Every information requirement has to have an associated level of information need (see ISO 19650-2 clause 5.2.1b). The method of assigning level of information need is set out in the project's information standard. Methods include schemas such as the NBS Level of Definition and BSRIA BG6 for building services deliverables.
Please confirm the schema to be assigned for level of information need
The use of information during the operational phase of the asset
There may be a requirement to assign additional metadata to information containers to support operational use of the information. If this is the case the project's information standard should identify what those requirements are (for example SFG20 or NRM3 codification for maintenance of systems and components).
Please confirm additional metadata requirements to support use of information during the operational phase.
